Paid Resources

A generous grant from The Natan Fund has enabled us to create a number of premium workshops in collaboration with leading Israel educators. Built around specific Israel Story episodes, these experiential workshops explore large themes (e.g. “dreams,” “empathy,” “friendship” etc.), teach about Israel and culminate in a creative activity. Some are geared towards younger audiences (4th-6th graders), and others towards older learners (10th-11th graders).

The El Al Stowaway with Hanoch Piven

“The EL AL Stowaway” tells the story of a 14-year-old boy from New York City who fulfilled his dream of visiting Israel by sneaking onto an EL AL plane bound for Tel Aviv. Instead of sending him home immediately, Israeli officials let him stay overnight, and even took him on a jam-packed day of sightseeing.

This arts-and-crafts workshop, created together with renowned artist Hanoch Piven, invites participants to explore their own dreams by creating 3D collages. The package includes all you need to run the workshop: Instruction videos, a list of necessary supplies (including links), fact sheets, the audio of the story, transcripts, a lesson plan, guiding questions and more. It is appropriate for 4th-6th graders.

The cost per package of materials is $180.

How Do You Say Anne Frank in Tigrinya with Hanoch Piven

“How Do You Say Anne Frank in Tigrinya” introduces us to Yikealo Beyene, an Eritrean refugee in Israel. In a surprising and touching turn of events, Yikealo dedicated years of his life translating Anne Frank’s Diary into his native tongue. The workshop, which was created together with renowned artist Hanoch Piven and is geared towards high-schoolers, asks participants to reflect on the theme of empathy and “the other.” By creating portraits made of everyday objects, it is both a fun and thought-provoking educational opportunity. The package includes everything you need to smoothly run the workship: The audio story and its transcript, a detailed lesson plan and guiding questions, instructive videos in which Hanoch leads participants through the activity, reflection and evaluation forms, and more.

The cost per package of materials is $180.
